What is Peng Shuai’s Tennis tournament record like? Which events has the Chinese star won in her career and what is her highest world ranking?

Chinese Tennis star Peng Shuai recently made sexual assault allegations against a senior member of the ruling communist party.

Tennis authorities and world governments, including the United Nations and the United States have called for her whereabouts to be made public to ensure her safety.

But what are Shuai’s accomplishments on the court?

Peng Shuai tournament wins explored

Shaui, who is pre-dominantly a right-handed player turned professional in 2001. However, she can play with both hands.

In her career, she has beaten the likes of Kim Clijsters, Martina Hingis and Marion Bartoli.

Shaui has found the most success playing in doubles tournaments, winning two Grand Slam titles playing as a pair.

The first came at Wimbledon in 2013, partnered with Hsieh Su-wei, beating the Australian duo of Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua in straight sets.

A year later at Roland Garros, the pair made the final of the French Open. Again in straight sets, they beat Italian pair Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.

In 2017, Shuai lost the final in Australia and made the semi-finals in the United States in the doubles.

She has struggled comparatively with her singles play.

Her best result is a semi-final appearance in the 2014 US Open, losing to Caroline Wozniacki.

In addition, Peng Shuai has 23 tournament wins in double, and was a two-time Gold medalist at the 2010 Asian Games.

What is her best world ranking?

In February 2014, Shuai made history by becoming the first Chinese player to be ranked as world number one.

She achieved it for her doubles play, and entered the record books.

No other Chinese player, male or female has since attained world number status in either singles or doubles.

Li Na attained world number two status in singles at the same time as Shuai was doubles #1.

In the singles, Shuai’s highest placing was #14 in August 2011.

As of 8th November 2021, she is placed #306 in the world singles rankings.

What are Shuai’s career earnings?

In her 20 year professional career, Shuai has played in 1,364 matches in both singles and doubles.

She has 838 of them for a winning percentage of 61.4%.

Shuai’s career earnings are slightly less than $10 million.
