His run at this year’s Wimbledon

Cristian has quietly gone about his business at Wimbledon this year and now finds himself in the quarter-finals. He has caused a number of upsets along the way too, knocking out 29th seed Jenson Brooksby and 19th seed Alex de Minaur.

Cristian, who also goes by the nickname “Gago” or “Tatan”, has certainly felt the love at SW19 this year.

“Every match I play here in Wimbledon since I remember, there’s always Chileans. Yeah, it’s amazing,” he said after his impressive win over De Minaur in the Round of 16.

The unseeded 26-year-old now faces Nick Kyrgios, one of the most unpredictable and explosive players on tour. However, his quality isn’t lost on Garin, who refuses to underestimate his opponent.

“Kyrgios is one of the guys I like to watch. For me, Nick is one of the best on grass,” he said.
