Berrettini spoke out about isolation from Ajla Tomljanovic after Australian Open last year

Before the 2021 Australian Open in January, Matteo Berrettini spoke about life in quarantine and being separated from Tomljanovic despite staying in the same hotel.

Players were forced to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival in the country because of the government’s covid restrictions.

Berrettini offered a glimpse into the lives of tennis stars in quarantine, telling Eurosport: “The only complicated thing for me is that Ajla is six floors below me but, despite the negative tests and everything, we’re not allowed to see each other.”

He reached the fourth round of the Australian Open but withdrew from the tournament after suffering abdominal pain.
