We take a look at Ajla Tomljanovic and ex-boyfriend Matteo Berrettini’s relationship ahead of her quarterfinal at the US Open.

Ajla Tomljanovic is into the quarterfinals at the US Open where she takes on Tunisian Ons Jabeur. Ajla reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon this year but was defeated by eventual champion Elena Rybakina.

At the US Open, Tomljanovic defeated Karolína Muchová and Evgeniya Rodina to reach the third round. Sehe defeated former World No. 1 and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

Tomljanovic then defeated Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets to set up the encounter with Jabeur.

Ajla Tomljanovic and ex-boyfriend Matteo Berrettini

Ahead of the match fans were curious to know who Ajla Tomljanovic’s boyfriend is. Ajla is currently single, but was recently in a relationship with fellow tennis player Matteo Berrettini.

Matteo Berrettini, from Italy, is a former world no.6. He also won Queen’s last year and reached the Wimbledon final. Like Ajla, he has also reached the US Open quarterfinals this year, where he takes on Casper Ruud.

Tomljanovic and Berrettini had been together since 2019, and were regularly spotted cheering each other on during their matches.

Their relationship first came to light during the 2019 US Open when Alja was seen in Berrettini’s box. There were also some pictures on their social media of them having fun together around New York City.

Ajla and Matteo often attended events together including the 2021 Met Gala.

She previously dated Nick Kyrgios

Tomljanovic dated fellow Aussie and tennis player Nick Kyrgios for two years, starting in 2015. Kyrgios often posted photos of him and Tomljanovic during their time together either on court or on holiday together.

The pair broke things off in 2017 with Ajla reportedly unfollowing him on Instagram the next day.

Kyrgios is now in a relationship with Costeen Hatzi.  He has been dating the Sydney-based blogger and model since December, and she has been with him on tour throughout the year.

Like Alja, Nick is into the 2022 US Open quarterfinals where he faces Karen Khachanov.
