Who are Iga Swiatek’s parents? Her dad, Tomasz

The young tennis star was born on 31 May 2001 in Warsaw, Poland. Iga Swiatek’s parents are dad Tomasz and mother Dorota Swiatek.

Iga inherits her athleticism from her father. Tomasz Swiatek was an Olympic rower for Poland. He competed in the men’s quadruple sculls in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Tomasz and his crew finished in seventh place.

After winning the French Open in 2020, Iga thanked her father. “He taught me how to be a professional in sports. He also taught me how to be confident on the court,” she said.

Iga Swiatek’s mom, Dorota Swiatek

Iga Swiatek’s mom is Dorota, who has largely kept out of the spotlight during Iga’s career. Dorota is an orthodontist and has worked in dentistry for many years. She graduated from the faculty of dentistry at the Warsaw Medical University.

Interestingly, Iga’s older sister Agata has followed in her mom’s footsteps. Agata studies at the faculty of dentistry at the Medical University in Lublin.

Swiatek’s coaching situation

In December 2021, Iga Swiatek announced a big change on Instagram – her and coach Piotr Sierzputowski had split up after five years working together.

“After more than five years I’ve decided to finish my co-operation with my coach Piotr Sierzputowski,” she said. “This change is really challenging for me and this decision wasn’t easy. As tennis players we meet on our path a lot of people who contribute great value into our work and, often, into our life too, because we spend almost the whole year on tour together.

Iga also announced she would start working with Tomasz Wiktorowski, Agnieszka Radwanska’s former coach, on a temporary basis until she finds a long-term replacement.
