Jose Mourinho was asked about the Tottenham future of Harry Winks at his pre-match press conference.

Speaking ahead of the re-arranged game against Fulham, Mourinho was unequivocal in his comments.

He said Winks is staying at Tottenham this month and that reporting anything else was a waste of everyone’s time.

Winks, 24, needs regular games to remain in Gareth Southgate’s plans for the European Championship and it appears he’ll be looking to earn them at Spurs.

“What do I have to say to stop with this talk? I said already, he’s going nowhere,” said Mourinho.

“He’s going nowhere. So when I say he’s going nowhere, what more do you want me to say?

“He’s played the last matches. He didn’t play the last one, was a decision to let play other players like Gedson and players that are not basically playing many minutes.

“Tomorrow’s he’s selected again… and if somebody is speaking with other clubs, my advice is don’t [waste] your time, don’t lose your time because he’s going nowhere.”

Some Tottenham fans on Twitter were pleased with their manager’s comments and want Winks to remain at Spurs.

Here’s how some supporters reacted to Mourinho’s pre-Fulham comments on Winks:
