Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was part of the Denmark side who swept aside Austria 4-0 in World Cup 2022 qualifying last night.

The anchorman doesn’t often get forward and chip in with goals and assists but he did both last night.

That earned him WhoScored’s Star Man award on the night and should ensure he returns to Spurs full of confidence.

That’s exactly what they need with their bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League faltering before the international break.

Naturally, Tottenham’s official Twitter account wanted to draw attention to the midfielder’s performance last night.

But it’s fair to say some fans were surprised to see the Dane venturing so far forward.

Others were just thrilled for a player who has been among Spurs’ top performers all season long.
