Matteo Guendouzi has sent Mesut Ozil a message on Twitter ahead of his impending departure from Arsenal.
The pair are close, but both have found themselves out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
Guendouzi is out on loan at Hertha Berlin while Ozil is expected to join Fenerbahce very soon.
The Frenchman was full of praise for Ozil in his post, claiming he’s the best German number ten there’s ever been.
Guendouzi has joined Shkodran Mustafi in taking to Twitter to defend Ozil ahead of his exit.
Mustafi said that the Gunners were not able to ‘assist’ Ozil at the time when his fellow German needed it the most.
Some Gunners fans reacted to the tweet by asking Guendouzi to come back to north London next season.
He’s clearly impressed them out on loan and with Ozil’s departure clearing a space in midfield, a gap might have opened up.
