Celtic starlet Scott Robertson has tipped the Hoops duo of Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic to have an impact in Saturday’s Glasgow derby, the Daily Record reports.
Robertson is currently on loan at Gillingham. However, just like everyone one else he will be keeping a close eye on the Old Firm match on Saturday lunchtime.
With Celtic in the middle of a covid-19 issue that will see Ryan Christie miss the game and Odsonne Edouard a doubt, Robertson is confident the duo can come in and make an impact if selected.
‘Full of quality players’
“If any team can cope with this situation, then it’s Celtic. All you have to do is look at the game against St Johnstone, the bench was full of quality players with Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths just two of them,” Robertson told the Daily Record.

“Tom has arguably been our most effective player in Old Firm games if you assess recent seasons and Griff’s record speaks for itself.”
It is easy to see where Robertson is coming from. Rogic and Griffiths have been excellent for the Hoops in recent seasons, especially in games against Celtic’s biggest rivals.
Bit of a non-event season so far
This season has been a bit of a non-event for the Celtic duo this season due to injuries.
However, Griffiths in particular returned with a bang in the recent win over St Johnstone. His goal for Celtic put the Hoops on the road to a 2-0 victory.

With Edouard possibly out for the derby, Neil Lennon is unlikely to have qualms about starting Griffiths against Rangers. He is more than capable of finding the back of the net.
Regarding Rogic, he might be less likely to start the game. However, he is the kind of player who can make an impact off the bench.
In the wake of the covid-19 issue affecting the club, it is a good thing Celtic have such a big squad. Other clubs would love to have the likes of Rogic and Griffiths on the bench, ready to change a game.
Now the duo could have the chance to have an impact from the start against Rangers. It wouldn’t be a shock to see either player drive Celtic on to victory.
