Who is Ryan Johnston boxing? YouTuber Ryan Johnston is taking part in the upcoming YouTube vs TikTok boxing event. Here’s who he’s fighting, and how his training is going so far.

The upcoming  YouTube vs. TikTok boxing showdown, which promoters Social Gloves are calling the “Battle of the Platforms”, takes place on 12 June at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Bryce Hall and Austin McBroom will be headlining the event, which also features TikTokers like Tayler Holder and Vinnie Hacker and YouTubers DDG, AnEsonGib, and Deji.

At a recent press conference, though, a boxing match featuring Ryan Johnston was also announced. Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is Ryan Johnston?

Ryan Johnston is the brother of model and YouTuber Catherine Paiz.

He went on to become a social media star in his own right, amassing nearly 800k followers on his jbuddha_ Instagram account. 

He began dating Leslie Hernandez in 2018, welcoming a daughter named Bellamy together in 2019.

In July 2020, they welcomed their second daughter, Arya

The couple have a YouTube channel called Through Our Eyes which has 2.43 million subscribers.

Ryan Johnston’s boxing career

Organisers for the YouTube vs TikTok event have announced that there will be two additional, free-to-watch pre-show undercard matches taking place.

These will see Landon McBroom taking on Ben Azelart, while Ryan Johnston takes on Cale Saurage.

Ryan has been training for a while now and recently uploaded a photo to Instagram celebrating his win streak.

On 12 April, it was revealed that Ryan Johnston won the Social Gloves sparring tournament and would therefore be fighting on 12 June as part of Team YouTube on the prelims.

Johnston provided footage of this on his Through Our Eyes YouTube channel.

Ryan Johnston vs Nick Ireland

One of Johnston’s opponents was Nick Ireland.

Nick Ireland is a Vietnamese-American entertainer on YouTube who became known for his challenge and prank content on the channel Ireland Boys Productions.

At the end of the fight, Ryan Johnston took the win vs Nick Ireland (2-1) and he advanced.

Tayler Holder vs Ryan Johnston sparring footage released

Tayler Holder is boxing YouTuber AnEsonGib at the YouTube vs TikTok event, and in preparation for the fight he sparred with Ryan Johnston.

Footage recently came out from Holder’s camp and it provided a good glimpse of the training going on.

The video shows the sparring session in which Holder manages to knock Ryan Johnston down.

Who is Ryan Johnston’s opponent, Cale Saurage

Cale Saurage is a social media personality who has gained fame through his TikTok channel, calegoes.

His sketches have helped him gain more than 4.9 million fans, and he recently shared footage of himself training for the upcoming fight.

Saurage also has 457k followers on Instagram.

On 12 June, fans will be able to see the pre-show undercard fights for free, including Johnston vs Saurage.

Those interested in the rest of the fights will have to pay.
