Englishman Richard Bland is making a serious name for himself at the US Open this week.
The Southampton native had a 4-under 67 on Friday.
The golfer, ranked 115th, walked off the course at Torrey Pines with a share of the 36-hole lead with American Russell Henley.

At 48-years-old, Bland is the oldest player to ever hold a share of the lead of the U.S. Open after two rounds.

Bland is making only his fourth major appearance, the first of which was 23 years ago.
“I was feeling pretty good about my game,” said Bland, who is playing on American soil for only the second time in his professional career.
“I’ve been driving the ball well for five, six weeks now, which is the cornerstone if you’re going to put a fight up for a US Open.”
Bland made headlines last month at the British Masters after winning his first European Tour title in his 478th career start.

Who is Richard Bland’s ex-wife?
Bland was married to Caroline Bland, nee Geere. The couple tied the knot some time in 2005.
“She’s a calming presence,” the golfing star said at the time.
“I used to go out for a few drinks with the lads; now I prefer to be home with her. My party days are over!”
However, the couple divorced in 2010. Little is known about Caroline Bland, but she is believed to be of a similar age to Richard.
She was also born in England.

She has no social media presence to speak of, and there are no pictures of her with Richard.
The former married couple had no children together either. Richard is currently single.

Richard Bland’s net worth in 2021
Bland won the Challenge Tour Grand Final in 2001, which came with a prize money of over €34,000.
In May this year, he won the Betfred British Masters, becoming the oldest first-time winner on the European Tour.
His net worth in 2021 is believed to be €5,956,626 per the official European Tour website.
However, if he can hold on to the lead at the US Open and win the tournament, he will receive $2.25 million in prize money.
