Arsenal defender David Luiz has missed Mikel Arteta’s side last four matches, but may be able to feature in the Premier League against Southampton tonight.

According to Football.London, Luiz will face a late fitness test to decide whether he can play.

Luiz has missed out since the head injury he suffered in a collision with Raul Jimenez last month.

The report claims Arteta has confirmed Luiz will have to undergo a late fitness test today before a final decision is made on his involvement can be made.

The report also claims that Reiss Nelson is also facing a late fitness test having sat out Arsenal’s last two games.

Nelson has impressed in the Europa League but is still waiting for his first league start of the season.

Nicolas Pepe’s return from suspension boosts Arteta’s wide options, but it would be handy to have Nelson available given Arsenal’s recent struggles for creativity.

Sead Kolasinac, Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey are all apparently out injured, with Granit Xhaka and Hector Bellerin suspended.

It’s a big night for Arteta and he needs to get his team selection right. He also won’t want a repeat of what happened to Partey against Tottenham, when he started before limping off in the first half.
