Tottenham are keen on Southampton striker Danny Ings, according to Eurosport.
They claim that Spurs were interested in the Saints hitman during the summer before turning to Carlos Vinicius on loan.
Ings has been offered a new contract at St Mary’s, which would apparently make him the highest paid player at the club.
But he hasn’t signed it, and that has alerted Spurs to his situation once again.
Apparently there is some concern on the south coast that he won’t sign a new deal at all.
His importance to Southampton is not in doubt. Ralph Hasenhuttl called him ‘unbelievable’ in June and he remains the club’s biggest goal threat.
The problem Spurs have when it comes to recruiting a striker is they know they’re going to be second fiddle to Harry Kane.
Would Ings swap being his club’s talisman for spending games on the bench? The fact he hasn’t signed a new deal at Southampton suggests he’s considering it.
