Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is out on loan at Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
But according to Milan Live, his loan spell with Diego Simeone’s side is not going to plan.
They report that there’s a chance he will return to Arsenal when the January transfer window opens.
That’s something which is backed up by fellow Italian outliet TMW, who claim Simeone has given the green light for him to go back to Arsenal.

So what will happen to Torreira if his Spanish loan spell comes to an end?
Milan Live claim that AC Milan are monitoring the situation. They apparently don’t have money to buy Torreira but are keen on a loan.
Stefano Pioli has apparently asked for a new central midfielder, although a central defender is apparently the club’s priority.
The report claims that Torino are also interested. They are managed by Marco Giampaolo, who was Torreira’s boss at Sampdoria.

Is it too simplistic to compare Torreira to Granit Xhaka and ask which man would be better suited to anchoring Arsenal’s midfield?
Perhaps, but it a question some Arsenal fans may ask if Torreira does return to north London next month.
It may be a concern that Torreira’s loan spell hasn’t worked out to the extent Simeone is ready to give up on the Uruguayan already.
Mikel Arteta has no shortage of questions to answer and Torreira’s future looks like another issue he’ll need to solve next month.
