Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be eyeing Celtic’s Callum McGregor with the Foxes set to spend this summer, according to The Sun.

McGregor has 29 caps for Scotland as a senior international and is a big part of the Celtic squad.

According to The Sun, Leicester City are set to spend in the next window and are eyeing McGregor as one of their options.

Leicester also eyeing Odsonne Edouard

Another Celtic star Rodgers is said to be keen on is Odsonne Edouard, with Leicester expected to make a £20 million bid for the forward this summer – according to The Sun.

That sort of money doesn’t seem much these days for a Premier League side to be paying for a top-level striker.

However, with McGregor still under contract until 2024, the move for the midfielder would also demand a fee.

The report didn’t suggest a fee for the McGregor move but Transfermarkt values the midfielder at £5.85 million.

What does McGregor bring to the table?

The 27-year-old has played 33 Scottish Premiership matches so far this season.

McGregor has also managed to get three goals and seven assists in these outings, making him an important player for Celtic.

The Scottish international averages a Whoscored rating of 7.07 out of 10 in the league.

That rating makes him the eighth-highest rated player in the entire Celtic squad, with Christopher Jullien leading the way with a rating of 7.46.

Transfermarkt’s valuation of £5.85 million seems a little low considering how important McGregor is to Celtic.

However, with many players wanting to play in the Premier League, perhaps that will be enough to draw McGregor to Leicester City.
