This week theories surrounding the late NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain and Golden State Warriors player Otto Porter Jr being related seem to have resurfaced on Twitter.
Over the years, some fans have noted the two basketball players bear a resemblance, with some having even wondered if they are related, while other wild theories have linked Porter to be the grandson of Chamberlain.

Why do fans think Otto Porter JR and Wilt Chamberlain are related?
Otto Porter Jr currently plays as part of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and, since his draft in 2013, has become known for his versatility as a player.
The late Wilt Chamberlain was an unstoppable force across his fourteen years as part of the NBA, with a profile on the player also describing him to have shown “athletic versatility” during his early career, meaning it’s no surprise the two players have been compared to each other over the years.
However, the pair have been compared more often because of their apparent striking resemblance to each other.
This week one user shared a side by side shot of the players as they shared their astonishment at Otto Porter Jr and Wilt Chamberlain’s similar looks:

The theories have been around for some time
The two basketball stars have been linked for many years, with theories on Wilt Chamberlain being Otto Porter Jr’s grandfather seen to date back to as early as 2017.
In the same year, a Reddit thread titled Could Otto Porter Jr. Be the grandson of Wilt Chamberlain? was created, which explored theories on how the two could possibly be related.
The thread, as well as noting their shared looks, explained that Porter had not mentioned his grandfather in the media. It later theorised Chamberlain could be his grandfather as a past claim where Chamberlain alleged he had bedroom relations with over 20,000 women was referenced.
Chamberlain famously discussed the claim he had slept with 20,000 women while appearing on Late Night with Conan in 1997.
Away from the theories, the two players’ similar looks seem to have also become somewhat of a meme over the years as users online have shared their reactions to seeing pictures of the two:
