Pryce also has claim to be the fastest woman alive. The “Pocket Rocket” is known for her petite stature and explosive block starts, and recently set a personal best time of 10.63 seconds. (Florence Griffith Joyner holds the world record at 10.49 seconds, but she sadly died in 1998).
Fraser-Pryce has announced that she will retire after the 2022 World Championships, so this will be her last Olympics.
People are curious about the “Mommy Rocket’s” husband and life away from the track.
Who is Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s husband?
The fastest woman alive has been married since January 2011.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s husband is called Jason Pryce.
The couple first met in 2007 when Pryce was visiting his friend, former Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell, during training at the University of Technology in Kingston where Shelly-Ann was a student.
“When I go to training with Asafa I used to see her,” he told Jamaican Observer in 2012. “She was just looking a way out. She was just always training hard,” he said of his wife and her humble beginnings.
Not much is known about Jason outside of his relationship with Shelly-Anne, but clearly he means a lot to her.
“My husband will say that my work is hard and (he knows) how everything has shaped my life,” she said in 2012.
“He has been there 100 percent and I don’t know what I would ever do without him.”

Shelly-Anne took a break from the track following her pregnancy in 2017.
On her Facebook page at the time, she wrote: “All my focus heading into training for my 2017 season was on getting healthy and putting myself in the best possible fitness to successfully defend my title in London 2017, but … here I am thinking about being the greatest mother I can be.”
On 7 August 2017, she and Jason Pryce welcomed a son called Zyon D Pryce.
