Nathan Chen’s short program music revealed
In the men’s short program on Tuesday, the Olympian skated to the song La Bohème by French-Armenian singer and lyricist Charles Aznavour.
The track became a signature track for Aznavour, and the song is said to be from the perspective of a painter looking back on their younger years.
La Bohème was offered to Nathan Chen by former Canadian skater and now choreographer Shae-Lynn Bourne, who recently told Time she thought the song could show another side to Chen’s skating.
She explained: ‘The passion of that song and the way it’s performed with such soul and truth, I felt it would be something new for Nathan to show his charisma.”
