It was a first Olympic gold for Ross, now 39 years old. She won silver at the London Games in 2012 and bronze in Rio four years later.

Because of the pandemic, the medal ceremony meant Ross and Klineman put medals around each other’s necks.

Ross told NPR: ‘I know that was a product of covid but it actually feels really special when you’re up there!”

Who is Ross’ husband?

April Ross is married to Bradley Keenan, with the couple tying the knot in 2010.

Ross said it was “one of the funniest nights of my life”, which included April jumping into a pool while wearing her wedding dress.

According to reports, Keenan is a former professional beach volleyball player who was appointed to coach the beach volleyball team at Arizona State University.

He was picked by volleyball director and indoor coach Stevie Mussie.

“His volleyball resume has more than prepared him to lead our beach programme,” Mussie told AZCentral of Keenan.

When asked whether he gets nervous watching his wife play, Keenan said in 2014: “I was pretty nervous at the Olympics. But I don’t know. I don’t really get nervous when I’m watching her.

“She always just plays well. She’s not in too many situations that would make me nervous.”

According to thesundevils.com, Keenan is the father of two kids, daughter Peri and son Wells.

April and Bradley are known to have a cat named Critter, who has her own Twitter account, @CritterTheeCat.
