Nottingham Forest went fourth in the Championship with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the City Ground.

A Lewis Grabban brace and a Ryan Yates goal earned the Reds a crucial three points to leapfrog Fulham in the league table.

Forest bounced back from conceding a cruel 93rd-minute equaliser at Sheffield Wednesday last week, marking the one year anniversary of Sabri Lamouchi’s appointment in style.

Following yesterday’s win, we looked at the players’ performances and marked them out of 10.

Brice Samba – 7 – Deserved a clean sheet for his efforts but a soft penalty denied the Congolese stopper. Pulled off a couple of smart stops to keep the Terriers at bay.

Matty Cash – 7 – Energetic, lively and showed tremendous determination throughout the contest.

Tobias Figueiredo – 9 – A truly colossal performance from Forest’s brick wall of a central defender. Now fit and a permanent fixture in Lamouchi’s plans, the Portuguese performer is a real asset.

Joe Worrall – 8.5 – Channelled his inner David Beckham with a delightful cross for Lewis Grabban to open the scoring. His defending was excellent too and he was unfortunate to be penalised for the Huddersfield penalty.

Yuri Ribeiro – 8.5 – Strong and steady at left-back as the Portuguese wizard continues to put in accomplished performances on a consistent basis.

Ben Watson – 6 – A rare off-day for the Forest captain as he struggled to pose an impact on the contest. Cut a frustrated figure on his comeback from an ankle problem and was taken off shortly before the end.

Tiago Silva – 7 – Was wasteful in possession during the first 45 and although he improved in the second half, this wasn’t a vintage showing from Forest’s playmaker.

Sammy Ameobi – 8 – Put in a really strong shift in tandem with Joe Lolley, with the pair swapping sides at regular intervals, providing a nightmare for the Huddersfield full-backs.

Brennan Johnson – 6 – Neat and tidy but struggled to impose himself on the contest. Still looks relatively raw but these experiences will bode well for the future.

Joe Lolley – 7.5 – Put in a delightful cross for Yates to poke home and his constant running made him a strong threat to his former club.

Lewis Grabban – 9.5 – Two clinical finishes epitomised what the Forest talisman is all about. His work rate was a joy to behold and his goal tally now sits at 19 for the season.

Substitutions

Ryan Yates – 7.5 – Took his goal well and also produced a superb block to snuff out a Huddersfield attack in the second half.

Joao Carvalho – 6.5 – Didn’t get much time on the ball but did force Jonas Lossl into a good save.

Nuno Da Costa – 6.5 – Like Carvalho, he didn’t see loads of the ball but the striker doesn’t look short of energy when it comes to chasing down lost causes.

Alex Mighten – N/A – Introduced in the dying moments; very nearly popping the seal on Forest’s win with a close-range half chance.

John Bostock – N/A – Came on at the same time as Mighten as Forest tried to run the clock down.
