Jurrell Casey announces retirement from NFL
After 10 seasons in the NFL, Jurrell Casey has decided to hang up his cleats and retire.
Casey played college football at USC, and was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
The defensive tacked played nine seasons for the franchise before moving to Denver last year.
He appeared in three games before a torn bicep landed him on injured reserve for the rest of the year.
“This is a proud day for Jurrell, his family and the Titans family,” Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a statement.
“There is no greater model for what a player can achieve both on the field and in the community than Jurrell.
Casey was selected to five consecutive Pro Bowls from 2015-2019.
“My career, it was amazing, just to have the opportunity to play this game. It was beautiful,” Casey told the Titans’ website.
“I always tried to play to the best of my ability, and always considered it an honor.”
Meet Jurrell Casey’s wife, Ryann Gray
Jurrell Casey’s wife is Ryann Gray.
The couple have been married since 2016 after meeting while they were students at the University of Southern California.
The couple, who had been friends at USC, started officially dating during her second year of law school.
They got married at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California.
The two created the Casey Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for re-entry programs, inner-city youth programs, mentoring, halfway houses and other projects.
“As a couple, we want to influence people from different standpoints,” Gray said. “I think it’s really cool to see an African-American couple that is hitting on accomplishments like these.

Jurrell and Ryann have two children together
In 2018, the couple had welcomed Nolan Gray Casey.
The baby boy came early, and weighed four pounds, eight ounces.
“Becoming a new dad has been off the charts,” Casey said at the time. “And the love you gain for your wife during the process has been out of this world, just to see her go through something like that, it has been unbelievable.
“When the young man was born, it was special. And to see how my wife just beasted through the whole thing, it was crazy. There were a few times I was ready to cry. She was in pain, but when I looked at her face she was thugging it out. I was like, ‘I have to hold in every tear.’ She is tougher than me.”
The couple also has another son together.
Less is known about Peighton, but Jurrell often shares photos of his family on IG.
