“The 49ers are heartbroken and shocked by the news of Parys’ tragic passing,” the team said in a statement.

Haralson played nine seasons in the NFL after being selected by the Niners in the fifth round in 2006.

The 37-year-old played seven seasons with the 49ers before finishing his career with the Saints.

Haralson had a career-high of eight sacks with the 49ers in 2008, as well as 88 starts, 380 tackles and 28 sacks.

No cause of death has been revealed.
