People want to know who Sam Ehlinger’s dad is following the tragic death of his 20-year-old brother Jake Ehlinger.
Jake Ehlinger, brother of former Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger, was found dead Thursday, Austin Police told NBC News.
ESPN reports that the Austin Police Department received a call at 12:18 p.m. local time and responded to the scene.
They identified the individual as Jake Ehlinger, who was a redshirt sophomore.

No cause of death was released and police said the death was not considered suspicious.
His brother, Sam Ehlinger, was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
The brothers also had a much-loved father who people want to know about.

Who is Sam Ehlinger’s dad?
Sam and Jake Ehlinger’s dad is Ross Herbert Ehlinger.
Ross was born in San Antonio in 1966 and was a successful trial lawyer for more than 20 years.
After graduating from San Antonio Churchill High School, Ross earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
He married Jena Cissel in 1993 and the couple had three children together, Sam, Jake, and Morgan.

Sam Ehlinger’s dad’s tragic death
The loss of Jake Ehlinger is another tragedy for the Ehlinger family after Ross Ehlinger’s passing in 2013.
Ross led an active life, coaching youth baseball, basketball, lacrosse and football.
A standout football player in high school, Ross remained committed to an active lifestyle and completed several marathons and Half-Ironmans.
It was during the Escape to Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco in 2013 where Ross sadly died.
According to an online memorial, Ross died from cardiac arrest while trying to complete the swimming portion of the race.
Speaking previously about his father’s death, Sam explained to Dallas News, “It’s just like I want to make him proud and I want to do the things he wanted me to do, exceed his expectations.
“I know he’s watching.
“That’s kind of how it plays into my motivation, that if he was here, what would he be making me do and how could I get better?”
