First Take is one of the most popular sports shows on television and the jewel in ESPN’s crown. Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim Rose have been a staple of the show for many years, and are responsible for making the show what it is today.
However, Molly has been missing from her hosting duties recently, prompting a number of questions from fans online.

On Monday 1 August, regular viewers tuned into the show expecting to see Molly Qerim. However, much to their disappointment, she was missing.
ESPN are yet to reveal where she is, prompting many questions from fans online. Some wondered if she was affected by covid, or had indeed caught the virus, but there has been no official confirmation yet.
Fans flooded her mentions on Twitter, with people asking if she’s ok and when will she be back.
Importantly, Molly is still very much a part of the show and has not left her hosting position, despite some fans’ fears. It’s likely she is taking well-deserved vacation times ahead of the NFL season starting.
Stephen A. Smith has also been away recently
Stephe A Smith has been missing from the show recently too. Smith has not been on the show for over a month now due to having surgery on his shoulder. His shoulder appears have caused him quite a bit of discomfort, leading to an extended vacation from the show.
However, this week Stephen A revealed when he’d be back on First Take. Expect him back on 15 August:
Molly Qerim Rose announced split from Jalen Rose in 2021
In December 2021, it was revealed that Molly Qerim Rose had split from husband Jalen Rose.
“After being separated for almost a year, Molly and I have officially decided to go our separate ways,” Jalen Rose said on Instagram. “We both agree remaining friends and colleagues is the best course of action for our relationship going forward,” he said. “Please respect our privacy at this time.”
The couple were married for three years, and according to Connecticut court records, first obtained by TMZ Sports, both parties filed for divorce in May 2020. Molly has not addressed the split since it was made public.
