Tacko Fall’s NBA career
The 7ft 7in Senegalese star moved to the USA aged 16 and played college basketball for the University of Central Florida. He went undrafted in 2019 but later signed with the Boston Celtics on a two-way deal.
Tacko played limited minutes for the Celtics over his two years. He eventually signed with the Cavs as a two-way player. Fall played in 11 games for Cleveland but was waived on 9 January 2022.
Fall played in 37 NBA games during his career, averaging 2.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.8 blocked shots.
What is Tacko Fall doing now?
After he was waived Tacko Fall joined the Cavs’ G League affiliate, the Canton Charge, and played in four games during the G League’s Showcase Cup tournament. He recorded 23.3 points with 13.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in 28.4 minutes per game.
In March, the Boston Globe reported that he had played in 12 games with the Charge. He averaged 13.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.7 blocked shots.
“It’s a grind, especially where you know the things you’re capable of and it’s a matter of being with the right team, the right fit and the right time,” he said (per the Globe).
“I know these guys know what I can do on both sides of the floor, especially defensively. Just being ready and next time I’m in the position to contribute, make sure I do that. But it’s a lot of ups and downs and try to stay up as much as possible and be consistent. I’m very grateful for the opportunities that I have and all the blessings that I have.
Right now it seems Fall is committed to giving his all in the G League in the hope that he will one day return to the NBA.
