Ja Morant was born in Dalzell, South Carolina, to father Tee and mother Jamie Morant. Ja’s mother was a point guard in high school and a softball player in college, while his father played basketball for Claflin University.
Tee is believed to be around 40-50 years of age, and has two children with wife Jamie: Ja Morant, and his younger sister, Teniya Morant.
Ja Morant’s dad messes with LeBron during Lakers game
Ja Morant is having a stellar year and emerging as one of the brightest young stars in the NBA. Against the Lakers in December, he dropped 41 points to lead his team past the Lakers 104-99. During the game, Ja’s dad Tee could be seen messing with LeBron from the sidelines.
Ja later responded to the exchange, retweeting the vide with the caption: ‘these two some clowns…my dawgs’ followed by a flexed bicep and black heart emoji./
Tee Morant and Ray Allen actually go way back
Tee Morant was actually a high school teammate of Ray Allen. After that, he had a successful run in college, participating in an NBA camp in Dallas.
The camp was reportedly a tryout for free agents, but he was told teams were only looking for players 6ft 8inch and taller.
After playing semi-professionally, Tee considered playing pro basketball overseas.
However, when partner Jamie became pregnant with Ja, he abandoned his basketball career and stayed at home, becoming a barber instead.

Tee Morant is becoming a celebrity in his own right
During this year’s playoffs, Tee Morant has emerged as a celebrity in his own right. During the Grizz’ first round matchup against the Timberwolves, he had an ongoing bet with Karl Anthony-Towns’ father.
The loser of the series had to wear the jersey of the other man’s son. Footage of the bet was caught on camera after Memphis knocked the T-Wolves out of the playoffs.
Tee was also sitting court-side for the Grizzlies’ Game 1 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals.
Afterwards, Ja’s dad embraced Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Keep an eye on him throughout this playoffs.
