Westbrook reveals the hardest thing about getting a triple-double
It was yet another triple-double for Westbrook and after the game he revealed which aspect of the stat-line is hardest to get.
After the win, Russ made an appearance on Inside The NBA.
While speaking to the crew, he was asked what is the hardest part of getting a triple-double.
He replied: “The hardest part is probably what you can’t control – the assists. What I can’t control is guys making shots. I can make it easy for them, but I can’t control if they score it or not.”
Westbrook added, “I can rebound on my own, score on my own, but I can’t control if guys make shots or not.”
Given Westbrook’s relatively small size for an NBA player (he’s 6ft 3in), you’d be forgiven for thinking he’d say rebounds.
Russ’ analysis makes sense though; assists ultimately boil down to whether your teammates can make the shot. SO more often than not, it’s out of your hands.

Westbrook passes Oscar Robertson on the all-time triple-double list
Russell Westbrook recently passed Oscar Robertson on the all-time list for most triple doubles.
The Washington Wizards guard notched the 182nd triple-double of his career earlier this month, putting him above The Big ‘O’.
After breaking the record, Westbrook said: “Man, it’s unbelievable.
“I’m truly blessed and thankful. I’m just thankful for everybody along the way, along this journey.
“To be in conversation with Oscar, one, I want to just thank him because he set the stage.”
