His college years to becoming a Boston Celtic
Pritchard is now a second-year shooting guard who first made a name for himself during his college basketball days with the Oregon Ducks. In his freshman year, Pritchard made 39 appearances for the Ducks as they made the NCAA Final Four. He averaged 7.4 points and 3.6 assists per game and was the only freshman to start in the Final Four that season.
As a junior, he lead Oregon to a Pac 12 Tournament Championship and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, and a year later he was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year. The Celtics eventually drafted him 26th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, but after signing his rookie contract he struggled to make an impact.
This season he has been much more efficient, and a key player coming off the Celtics’ bench. In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, he finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists in 17 minutes. In the regular season this year, he averaged 6.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 14 minutes per game.

Payton Pritchard’s parents are father Terry and mother Melissa. Payton comes from an athletic family and was perhaps always destined to be an athlete. His father Terry Pritchard played football at Oklahoma while his mother Melissa competed for the Sooners’ gymnastics team. Furthermore, his aunt, Lisa Griffith, played college basketball in Arizona.
In college, Pritchard was an elite playmaker, and his dad always encouraged him to get his teammates involved on the offensive end. Terry taught Payton how to share the basketball and get assists for his teammates.
He said (via Heavy): “My dad always told me he’d almost be mad at me if I scored 50 points, or anywhere near 45 and up. Honestly, if you are scoring that in a high school game in only 32 minutes, your other teammates aren’t touching the ball enough and you’re not getting other guys shots.”

Does Payton Pritchard have a girlfriend?
There have been some online rumours that Payton Pritchard has a girlfriend. These rumours suggest Payton is allegedly dating a girl named Lucy Charter.
In 2019 and 2020, it appears as though Payton and Lucy were dating. Pritchard uploaded several photos of the couple to Instagram, including one of him kissing her on the cheek:
However, it appears as though the two are no longer together and Payton Pritchard is single in 2022. Lucy Charter, meanwhile, is a writer who splits her time between Oregon and Hawaii, according to her Instagram bio.
