After sustaining an ankle injury in the PAC-12 quarter-final, Kerr Kriisa was back on court last night as the Arizona Wildcats faced the TCU Horned Frogs in the NCAA second round. The point guard helped the team to a narrow 85-80 win, providing three points – albeit from ten shots.
Kerr Kriisa’s appearance left some wondering whether he is related to Steve Kerr – he of Chicago Bulls/The Last Dance, five-time NBA champion as a player fame.

Is Kerr Kriisa related to Steve Kerr?
No. Kerr Kriisa is not related to Steve Kerr – despite the Arizona player sharing a name with the NBA legend.
Steve Kerr was born in Beirut, Lebanon, where his father was an academic. He has three children with wife Margot – Nick, Maddy and Matthew.
Kerr Kriisa was born in Estonia in January 2001. He moved to the US in 2020, signing with the Arizona Wildcats.

Despite not being related to Steve Kerr, Kerr Kriisa does have some links to the NBA legend.
Kriisa is named after Kerr, who used to play for Arizona in his college days before his 1988 drafting to the NBA. Moreover, Kriisa also wears the #25 jersey for the Arizona Wildcats – the same number Kerr did in his time with the team.
Kerr went on to form part of the Bulls dynasty alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Since his retirement, he’s claimed three NBA titles as a coach at the Golden State Warriors to bring his total tally of championships to eight.
