The Grizzlies star dropped 52 points recently and Ja Morant’s daughter, Kaari Jaidyn Morant, joined him afterwards for an adorable interview to steal the show.
Ja Morant has had a sensational season for the Grizzlies this year, with the former rookie of the year becoming an All-Star for the first time.
The 23-year-old has been a large factor in the Grizz being a contender out West. The mercurial point guard dropped a career-high 52 points in a 118-105 win over the Spurs on Monday. Two nights before that, he dropped a then career-high 46 points against the Bulls.
After the game against the Spurs, Kaari Jaidyn Morant joined dad Ja for his post-game interview.
Ja Morant’s daughter Kaari joins him for interview
After the game, Kaari Jaidyn Morant joined her dad as he spoke to reporters. He explained she is his inspiration and what motivates him to perform at such a high level.
Ja later retweeted a photo of Kaari being looked after by the Grizzlies mascot during the game:
Ja Morant’s recent injury scare and Kaari Jaidyn’s reaction
Morant injured himself during a recent game against the Timberwolves and headed to the locker room during the third quarter. While on a break forward, he appeared to grab his hamstring before taking himself out of the game and heading towards the locker room.
He sat out the rest of the third quarter but returned to play out the entire fourth quarter.
It was undoubtedly a heart-in-mouth moment for Grizz fans, including Ja Morant’s daughter Kaari Jaidyn. She was at home watching the action and was genuinely concerned her dad had injured himself badly.
She asked her mom whether he was ok, and the moment was captured and shared on social media.
Ja even quote-tweeted the video with the caption: “My baby. All I could do was smile.”
More on Kaari Jaidyn and her mother
Ja Morant was previously in a relationship with Kadre Dixon (aka KK Dixon) and the couple have a child together, two-year-old Kaari Jaidyn.
Ja and KK are no longer together but the Memphis star remains close to his daughter. Kaari has been spotted with her pops at numerous basketball games, and Ja has shared lots of cute snaps with his daughter.
In November he shared a video of them together with the caption: “If I could gift wrap the globe, I’d give you the world.”
Kaari Morant even has her own Instagram account, which is run by her parents. Incredibly, she already has more than 40,000 followers.
