After the Grizzlies versus Warriors game recently, a random fan tried to dap up Ja Morant with pretty dire results. The interaction was turned into a parody, which Ja and NBA Twitter have been loving.
Ja Morant is arguably the most entertaining player in the NBA right now. The point guard has led the Memphis Grizzlies to theNo.3 seed in the Western Conference and is growing as a star.
The former Rookie of the Year is well on his way to a first All-Star appearance, and may end up on an All-NBA Team by the end of the season. Ja is undoubtedly gaining supporters by the day, although a recent fan’s attempt to dap him up failed miserably. The attempt was parodied online – and it was pretty hilarious.
Fan’s attempt to dap up Ja Morant goes viral, gets parodied
After the Grizzlies’ win against the Golden State Warriors, Ja stuck around on court to mingle with fans. However, one particular interaction went viral after a fan tried to dap Ja up.
Ja and Twitter respond to the video
Ja was tagged in the post and responded by retweeting the video with crying laughter and face-palm emojis.
People replied to the viral clip and seemed to enjoy the parody version.
Grizzlies announce jersey swap after incident with Warriors fan
Ja recently got into a stare down with a young Warriors fan after making a big lay-up vs the Warriors. Morant later joked the kid “was disrespectful with that jersey on”, but wanted to track him down to give him a jersey.
In light of that, the Grizzlies announced a promotion in which kids 12 and under can exchange any opposing player NBA jersey for a new Grizzlies Ja Morant or Jaren Jackson Jr replica.
They posted the promotion on Twitter, which Ja replied to with a handshake emoji.
Perhaps Ja is ready to call a truce?
