The Golden State Warriors forward is a notorious smack-talker, and widely considered one of the best in the NBA. However, Draymond Green recently revealed the league’s surprise trash-talker – and it’s not who you’d expect.
Draymond Green is widely recognised as one of the most passionate and honest players in the NBA. Not only is he a three-time NBA champion, a three-time NBA All-Star, and a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, he’s also one of the biggest trash-talkers we have in the league today.
However, in a recent interview, Draymond revealed a surprise trash-talker, and ironically it’s a former teammate of his.
Draymond Green reveals surprise NBA trash-talker
Draymond Green recently had an interview with TheVolumeSports and spoke about the NBA’s best trash-talkers. While he obviously gave props to himself as an elite smack-talker, he also revealed that Kevin Durant is one of the best when it comes trash-talking.
Draymond said, “I’ve always told people that KD is one of the biggest trash talkers to me since I came in the league. And it would be disrespectful stuff like, ‘Ay, who is this?’ KD would turn a dude around like trying to look at the back of his jersey to see his name on the back.”
“K would say stuff to people and you’re like, ‘Yo you Kevin Durant, there’s not really much I can say back.’ And KD got those one liners like ‘Oh he drunk at the bar!’ K will hit somebody with a crossover and say ‘Ay he drunk at the bar!’
Green then concluded, “So, I think if I’m not going with myself, I would have to say KD for sure.”
KD and Draymond had plenty of differences in Golden State
Kevin Durant and Draymond Green played together on the Golden State Warriors for three seasons between 2016- 2019. Those years brought huge success, with the Warriors winning back-to-back Championships and Durant winning two Finals MVPs.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing, and a well-documented bust up between Durant and Draymond during a game against the Lakers was partly responsible for KD leaving Golden State. KD even admitted on First Take in 2019 that it “for sure” was a factor in his decision to leave the Warriors.
Of course, time is a great healer, and any damage to KD and Draymond’s relationship looks to have been repaired over the past few years.
They sat down together a while back and discussed what went down during their time in Golden State. Check it out.
