On Monday (6 September), De’Aaron Fox shared two images of himself working out and bulking up. Within a day, an NBA doping control officer contacted Fox saying he required a drug test. The guard shared the exchange on his Instagram.
De’Aaron Fox bulks up during offseason
The summer provides a great opportunity for NBA players to work on their game and bulk up ahead of the new season.
Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox is the latest player to show off his new toned physique he’s been working on in the gym.

On Monday, 6 September, he posted two pictures of himself working out with the caption: “It’s just work.”
The 23-year-old certainly looks like he’s added plenty of muscle to his previously lean frame.
De’Aaron Fox shares hilarious text from NBA doping control officer
Just a day after Fox uploaded the images of him working out, he received a text from the NBA’s doping control officer.
Rather hilariously, the text says he’s required to undergo an offseason drug test.
Fox shared the text on Instagram with the caption “and look”, followed by a series of laughing emojis.
People in the comments joked about how ridiculous the text he received was.
The NBA is clearly keen to prevent doping in the league, but reaching out to Fox about a doping test after a simple workout seems a bit excessive.
Fox set to stay with Kings despite rumours
Ben Simmons’ status in Philly has been a big talking point this offseason.
Simmons and the 76ers are both looking to cut ties and the Sacramento Kings are one of the organisations with the assets to make a trade.
However, Sam Amick, of The Athletic, says the Kings have shut down any talks of trading away either De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton.
He writes: “The Kings spoke to the Sixers weeks ago and made it clear neither De’Aaron Fox nor Tyrese Haliburton would be included in a possible Simmons deal.”
