After Golden State clinched the NBA championship, Al Horford’s sister Anna posted a rather salty message to Warriors fans.

The Golden State Warriors trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are NBA champions for the fourth time after overcoming the Boston Celtics in this year’s NBA Finals.

The Celtics navigated a remarkably tough path to the Finals, overcoming Kevin Durant’s Brooklyn Nets, the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks and a gutsy No.1 seed Miami Heat.

In the end, though, the tried and tested Warriors system was too much as they took the series 4-2.

Al Horford’s sister’s salty message to Warriors

One of the surprise packages for the Celtics during this postseason run has been Al Horford. The 36-year-old Dominican has rolled back the years and played some of the best basketball of his career.

His sister, Anna Horford, has been vocal throughout the playoffs, particularly on Twitter. The series has certainly been a chippy one, with a lot said and done by both sets of fans, and Anna Horford wasn’t about to relent after the Dubs took the title.

Following the the Game 7 loss, she tweeted: ‘“Congrats to the b**** a** Warriors. Yes, I’m salty. Yes, it was a sh**** loss. Love our guys and love how far we came. Sad for my brother who played an amazing game. Go C’s.”

Fans reacted to Anna Horford’s salty tweet in the comments, but she appeared to double down on what she said:

Anna Horford has been vocal throughout the playoffs

Anna Horford is host of the Horford Happy Hour podcast and has a Twitter following of more than 59k. She has been tweeting throughout the postseason and has been hugely supportive of her brother Al:

She’s not been one to mince words either. After the Warriors took a 3-2 series lead after winning Game 5, Klay Thompson told reporters he couldn’t wait to get to Boston to finish the job.

Anna quote-tweeted the clip of Thompson’s quote with a message to the Celtics head coach: “Play this on a loop in the locker room,” she wrote.

Al Horford reflects on loss to Warriors

It is understandably a disappointing end to the season for the Celtics, who came so far. After Game 6, Horford reflected on the loss to the Warriors, admitting they were “at a different level” in the finals.

He added: “It wasn’t meant for us this year. I feel like we can hold our heads high and there’s still a lot of growth.”

At 36, it remains to be seen how many more opportunities Horford will get to win an NBA title championship. However, he will likely return for the C’s next season and, with Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown all coming back, there’s no reason they can’t make the Finals next year.
