Why are NBA fans calling Anthony Davis ‘ADisney’? ADisney meme explored after Lakers lose Game 1 against the Phoenix Suns 99-90.

Anthony Davis vs the Phoenix Suns

Anthony Davis is one of the Lakers’ key components but the big man struggled to get going against the Phoenix Suns.

Davis had the most minutes out of any Laker, but only managed 13 points after going 5-for-16 on field goals.

On the other side of the court, debutant and fellow big Deandre Ayton contributed 21 points. The Suns centre dominated AD all night and pretty much everyone noticed it.

Fans started calling Anthony Davis ‘ADisney’. Why?

LeBron wasn’t the only Lakers All-Star getting grilled by fans.

Anthony Davis also found himself targeted with an ‘ADisney’ insult, referring to the Lakers’ title run in the Orlando Bubble last year.

The meme seems to imply that Davis – nicknamed ‘AD’ – is only able to turn it on when he’s in Disneyland.

Here’s some of the ADisney Anthony Davis memes.

Davis was critical of his own performance in the loss and admitted he’d have to be better if the Lakers are to win the series.

“There’s no way we’re winning a game, let alone the series, with me playing the way I played,” Davis said.

“This is on me. I take whatever responsibility, for sure. I’ll be ready for Game 2.”

LeBron seemed to back his teammate.

“It’s always AD being AD,” he said.

“Any time he come to the press room and tells you we can’t win without him or with him playing the way he played, he always responds. I’m looking forward to that.”

“I love when AD puts that pressure on himself. We’re a better team when he’s aggressive and we’re a better team when he demands the ball.”

Anthony Davis has been struggling since returning from an injury in late-April, but will need to recover quickly if the Lakers are to progress to the next round.
