What is Tony Stewart's net worth as he forms a NHRA team?

The only driver to win titles in NASCAR and IndyCar, Tony Stewart is to form a new NHRA team, but what is his net worth as he embarks on yet another racing venture?

Tony Stewart to form NHRA racing team

Stewart, a three-time NASCAR Cup champion retired from competitive racing at the end of the 2016 season.

The man known as ‘Smoke,’ took 49 wins in his 18-year career in Cup, including 16 for his own Stewart-Haas Racing squad.

In 2009, he joined forces with Gene Haas to create Stewart Haas Racing, winning his title in 2011.

He had previously been the 2002 and 2005 NASCAR champion, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

In addition to his success in stock car racing, Stewart has also won in sprint and midget machinery.

He has in the World of Outlaws series as well as taking victory in the famed Chili Bowl nationals.

Stewart is the only driver to win titles in NASCAR and IndyCar – taking his IndyCar title in 1998.

In 2021, Stewart co-founded and raced in the Superstar Racing Experience – which was racing designed for entertainment on TV.

Stewart’s fiancée Leah Pruett is an established National Hot Rod racer, hence his decision to form Tony Stewart Racing to compete in the series – with Pruett as a driver.

Stewart Haas Racing brings success

With his 2011 NASCAR title, Stewart became the first NASCAR driver to win a championship for a team carrying his own name.

Stewart became one of the first to own a racing team, with the likes of Brad Keselowksi and Kyle Busch following suit soon after.

Their teams never raced in Cup, instead focusing on the junior series.

In 2014, Stewart’s team won a second Cup title as Kevin Harvick clinched his sole crown to date.

Keselowski has opted to follow a similar route as Stewart, when he will move to Roush Fenway in 2022 in a driver/co-owner role.

What is Tony Stewart’s net worth in 2021?

Having been on the racing scene since the mid-1990s, Stewart has raked in a fair bit of prize money.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the 50-year-old has an estimated fortune of $90 million.

He is believed to have earned over $100 million in prize money during his long career, hence his ability to invest in racing teams.

Drivers such as the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are believed to have accumulated more money than Stewart in their respective careers.
