Formula One heads to Texas this weekend for the United States Grand Prix – but what is the start time for the first F1 race in the US since 2019?

United States Grand Prix returns after year absence

Always a popular stop on the calendar, F1 heads to the Lone Star state for the return of the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.

After being cancelled in 2020, the race returns for the ninth time to the purpose built Austin track.

In the drivers’ championship, Max Verstappen regained the lead in Turkey with a second place finish.

He leads Lewis Hamilton by six points after Hamilton’s fifth-place finish after a late pitstop.

Including Austin, there are just six races left, with 156 points left up for grabs as the title race enters the final run-in.

Hamilton has five wins in Austin and six in America in total – thanks to one at Indianapolis in 2007.

Verstappen has yet to win on American soil, but did take a podium in 2018.

Valtteri Bottas is the defending race winner, having won in 2019.
