What happened to Julio Urias’ eye?
Julio Urias’ left eye is partially closed as a result of multiple surgeries as a child to address a benign tumour.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2015, Urias admitted he still has vision in his left eye despite it appearing closed. In the same year, Urias underwent cosmetic surgery on his eye, which according to ESPN, was also related to a benign mass.
The player has become known to baseball fans for wearing white-rimmed glasses, which feature specialist curved lenses to allow Urias to see better when pitching.

Julio Urias’ career explored
Julio Urias made his professional baseball debut in 2013, aged 16, as part of the minor league team Great Lakes Loons.
At that age, he also signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, although he didn’t make his major league debut with the team until 2016.
Urias has been with the team in the MLB for six seasons, known for his left-handed pitching.
