The 2022 CrossFit Games came to an end on Sunday (August 7), with Laura Horvath placing among the annual event’s top three. 

Horvath secured the third spot at this year’s games behind Mallory O’Brien, who came second, and overall winner Tia-Clair Toomey.

Meet Laura Horvath: Age, height and background explored

Laura Horvath, who hails from Budapest, Hungary, was born on March 21, 1997.  Horvath is 25 years old and celebrated her latest birthday with her 306,000 followers on Instagram

According to Progenex, the 2022 CrossFit Games athlete stands at 1.69m, meaning she is about 5ft 7in. 

She shares her love of all things sport through her parents as her mother was a PE teacher. Growing up, Horvath explored her sporty side through running and gymnastics before coming into her own in climbing. 

She went on to become a high-level wall climber and, during her teen years, racked up many medals and trophies for her efforts. Horvath switched her focus to CrossFit in 2014 and has been dubbed one of the sport’s rising stars. 

Hungary’s Laura Horvath came in hot at this year’s CrossFit Games

Horvath was in the top half of the leaderboard across the games, having topped it twice in both The Alpaca and Back Nine.

She also reached the top half on the leaderboard in both the Rinse ‘N’ Repeat and the Jackie Pro, where she placed third and fourth respectively. 

The athlete is no stranger to the CrossFit Games as she has competed in the past four editions of the event since 2018.

Horvath comes in third at 2022 CrossFit Games

As the CrossFit Games came to an end on Sunday (August 8) for another year, Hungary’s Laura Horvath placed third overall. 

Top spot was secured by Tia-Clair Toomey, which was her sixth straight title in the competition.

This year’s event isn’t the first time Horvath has featured in the top three at the games. 

In 2018 and 2021, Horvath also placed second behind Tia-Clair Toomey.
