Who is Maria Andrejczyk’s partner, Marcin Rosengarten? At the Tokyo Olympics, Andrejczyk won the silver medal with a javelin throw of 64.61m, just behind gold medallist Liu Shiying’s 66.34. This propelled Andrejczyk to fame, with people wanting to know more about her life.

Now, the athlete is making headlines for auctioning her Olympic medal to help a fundraising effort for an eight-month-old baby’s heart surgery.

Who is the Polish Olympic athlete?

Maria Magdalena Andrejczyk is a Polish track and field athlete who competes in javelin.

At the Tokyo Olympics Andrejczyk won the silver medal with a throw of 64.61m, close to gold winner China’s Liu Shiying 66.34m.

Her personal best of 71.40 is the Polish record as well as the third-best throw in the history of women’s javelin.

According to the Times of India, the 25-year-old was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2018.

She didn’t require chemotherapy but underwent surgery. Three weeks after surgery, she was training again.

“I just want to be healthy first,” she told The Washington Post. “If I stay healthy I can then show what I’m capable of.

“I still love that feeling of improving through training. Javelin has made me a better person. It brings me joy.”

According to News Colony, Andrejczyk’s parents, Małgorzata and Tomasz Andrejczyk, are very supportive of their daughter.

Who is Maria Andrejczyk’s partner, Marcin?

Since 2018, Andrejczyk has been with her partner, Polish trainer Marcin Rosengarten.

According to, Rosengarten has trained more than 15 Polish athletes, including Andrejczyk.

Beyond Instagram snaps of the happy couple, there isn’t much information about Andrejczyk’s love life as she prefers to maintain a low profile.

Andrejczyk auctions Olympic silver medal

Andrejczyk is currently in the news after her selfless campaign to help an eight-month-old receive heart surgery.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, 11 August, Andrejczyk explained she was auctioning her Olympic medal to raise funds for eight-month-old Miłoszek Małysa so she can undergo life-saving heart surgery.

After starting the auction at 200,000 zloty ($51,000), she announced on Monday, 16 August, via Facebook that Żabka, a Polish supermarket chain, won the auction with a bid of $125,000.

After winning the auction, Żabka announced it would return the medal to Andrejczyk.

“We were moved by the beautiful and extremely noble gesture of our Olympian,” a company representative wrote on Facebook.

“Therefore, we decided to support the collection of funds for Miłoszek.

“We also decided the silver medal from Tokyo will remain with Maria, who showed how great she is.”
