Liverpool defender Neco Williams has praised the recent performances of fellow academy graduate Curtis Jones.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Williams said Jones has impressed him in recent matches.
Jones has started four of Liverpool’s last six Premier League games and three of the last four in the Champions League.
He has established himself as a first team player this term and netted the winner in the 1-0 victory over Ajax last month.

“With youngsters, if you get an opportunity you need to take it and that’s exactly what Curtis has done,” Williams said. “For me, he’s been outstanding for the last few games now.
“Everything he does now, he’s getting the goals, he’s getting some assists. He’s always played with maturity and had so much confidence. From the cademy to the first team, he’s just the exact same player.
“That maturity he had when he was a kid to now is the exact same. That’s his game. He plays with that much confidence and that much maturity, he doesn’t play like a 19-year-old, he plays like a 27-year-old.
“He’s obviously a fantastic player. For what he’s done this season so far, he’s helped this team massively and he’s only going to grow to become a better player.”

Jones has taken that next step to replace Adam Lallana in Liverpool’s squad this season.
For Williams, he has been trusted to be Trent Alexander-Arnold’s understudy, but his form has been patchy.
Jones is the perfect example for the Welshman to follow in terms of nailing down a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
He has been hugely impressive amid the injuries at Anfield and it would be a huge show of faith from the German boss if he plays Jones in that huge top of the table clash with Spurs tonight.
