Here is a round-up of the latest news surrounding Leeds United.

Leeds are waiting to make their first signing of this January transfer window but the rumour mill continues to link players to the club.

Erick Pulgar and Christian Kouame

According to Italian outlet La Nazione, the club is interested in Fiorentina duo Erick Pulgar and Christian Kouame.

The former is a silky defensive-midfielder who likes to maraud forward. He would certainly fit into the dynamic style of play required under Marcelo Bielsa.

He would also provide Leeds with more balance in the heart of midfield. The side has conceded the second-highest number of goals in the league (33).

Kouame is an agile striker who occupies dangerous areas on the pitch. He rarely gives defenders a moment’s rest and, although he has been inconsistent this term, he was involved in 11 goals in 18 league games last season (six goals and five assists).

Daniel James

The Daily Mail reports Leeds could move for Daniel James on loan from rivals Manchester United. The Mail says West Bromwich Albion have pulled out of the race to sign the midfielder.

The Welshman proved an asset when Leeds and Manchester United met earlier this season. He was a constant threat and also netted in the encounter.

A player who is seeking more regular game time, James could get plenty of that under his belt at the Yorkshire side.

Kouadio Kone

Leeds have also been monitoring young French striker Kouadio Kone at Toulouse, according to Tuttomercato.

The exciting forward isn’t the most prolific in his age category but is certainly one to watch and is reportedly also being lined up by Milan.

Ryan Christie

Ryan Christie is another player being touted for Leeds, according to a report by 90min. The Celtic midfielder can play in a host of positions.

Although Leicester City are reportedly in pole position to land the Scotland international, Bielsa may tempt Christie in his quest to make him the complete player.
