Arsenal legend and BBC pundit Ian Wright has been discussing the forthcoming north London derby on Sunday.

Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, Wright discussed who Arsenal have got in their ranks who can stop Tottenham’s runners.

Wright suggested Mo Elneny, who has made five Premier League starts this season, but hasn’t featured in either of Arsenal’s last two league games.

He later went on to say he doesn’t expect Mikel Arteta to start the £5 million (BBC) man.

“You’ve got (Ndombele) who can run with the ball,” said Wright. “Bergwijn, Son – Kane can drop off.

“What are we going to do to contain somebody who can run with the ball? Are we going to (play) Elneny? Is it Elneny? Elneny should hold.

“It will be (Dani) Ceballos and (Granit) Xhaka. When you look at what Bielsa did to them, when he put Klich on them to push them even further back. If Tottenham do anything like that, they’re going to have all that space.”

Elneny was a surprise pick in Arsenal’s last Premier League win, at Old Trafford, but he also played 90 minutes the week after when Aston Villa ripped the Gunners apart at home.

It’s clear Tottenham are the team coming into the derby on the better form – on top of the league having taken four points from games against Manchester City and Chelsea.

The old cliche is that form goes out of the window in derby matches and Arsenal will hope that’s the case this weekend.

Mikel Arteta will need a tactical masterplan to stop a Spurs attack which has been rampant at times this season.

It would be a surprise if Elneny plays, but Arteta needs to shuffle his pack to provoke a response.
