Andros Townsend has spoken openly about Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane potentially joining Manchester City in the summer, when speaking on Stadium Astro.

Townsend doesn’t have very high hopes for Manchester City potentially signing Harry Kane.

The Tottenham star has once again had an amazing goalscoring season in the Premier League.

Scoring 21 league goals so far this season, which is even more impressive considering the north London side aren’t having the best season.

This is, of course, attracting interest from major European sides; with the Independent reporting Manchester City, PSG and Manchester United are all eyeing up Kane.

Townsend on Kane

The former Spurs man was raving over Harry Kane’s ability when speaking on Stadium Astro.

But had his doubts over Manchester City’s financial muscle and gave them little to no chance of negotiating with Daniel Levy:

“Of course, I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, I think Harry Kane is one of the, if not the best strikers in the world, so of course he could play for a club like City.

“But having worked under a chairman like Daniel Levy, I know there’s no way on this earth that he is selling Harry Kane to a Premier League rival for less than double the price.

“For me, I think that ends the debate, Pep Guardiola has already come out and said that Manchester City don’t have bucket loads of money to spend.

“And it’s going to take that and more to get Daniel Levy to even consider negotiating with them, so for me, it’s a non-starter with that one.”

It’s no secret that Spurs have struggled to win trophies in recent history, so maybe this could be a way to attract Kane away from north London?

Is leaving north London the right move?

The one thing Tottenham Hotspur can offer Harry Kane is the chance to try and break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.

Because unless Levy goes on a spending spree, you can’t see the north London side winning a title anytime soon.

Manchester City, Liverpool and even Manchester United are by far the best teams in the league right now.

But it does seem unlikely that Levy would sell to any of those teams.

PSG makes sense from both a financial point of view and seems a logical enough transfer.

If the French giants could sell either Kylian Mbappe or Neymar, then they would have plenty of money to spend on the Spurs forward.

Harry Kane would also be linking up with his old manager in Mauricio Pochettino.
