Leeds defender Robin Koch was part of the Germany team thumped 6-0 by Spain last night.

Luis Enrique’s side ran riot on a chastening night for Joachim Low’s men in the Nations League.

Manchester City’s Ferran Torres netted a hat trick, with club team-mate Rodri, Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarabal completing the scoring.

Koch has made some individual errors for Leeds since his arrival, giving away two penalties and allowing Jamie Vardy to capitalise on an underhit backpass recently.

Add that to the fact Leeds let in four goals in their two matches before the international break and it’s easy to get carried away.

But some Leeds fans took to Twitter to defend their player last night.

Some said it was a poor team performance overall – which it was – and Koch couldn’t be singled out.

Others pointed to the fact he was left on the pitch as evidence that he actually didn’t play too badly in the circumstances.

Koch’s confidence is bound to be low after such a heavy defeat and he will need the support and faith of Leeds fans to get through the other side.
