Alan Shearer feels Jose Mourinho can’t drop Gareth Bale out of his Tottenham side now.
Bale continued his strong recent form with a two-goal display in the 4-0 thumping of Burnley yesterday.
Shearer analysed the game in the Match of the Day 2 studio and raved over Bale’s performance.
“This is unbelievable,” said Shearer of a moment when Bale sprinted past an opponent in the first half. “Lost his pace? Not there he hasn’t. Magnificent.
“The left foot ball, wonderful to Kane for his goal. Bale got his second goal – great first touch, very, very clever finish.
“We don’t know what’s going on on the training ground but you need to feel you belong there and that the manager wants you in the team.
“Certainly on today’s evidence, he has to stay in the team.”
Yesterday’s game was by far the best Bale’s played since being back at Tottenham.
His form has gradually been building but yesterday he did it in the Premier League from the start.
The question is; is Bale fit enough to start every week yet? That’s what we still need to see.
