Meet Thomas Pieters’ girlfriend Stefanie van Steen and their family after the Belgian golfer wins the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links.

Thomas Pieters held on to claim the biggest victory of his career this weekend, winning the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links by one shot.

Pieters carded a fourth round of 72, finishing at 10 under par ahead of Spain’s Rafa Cabrera Bello and India’s Sharma Shubhankar. After the victory, we take a look at Thomas Pieters’ girlfriend Stefanie van Steen.

Thomas Pieters wins Abu Dhabi Championship

“I disappeared for a couple of years, I guess,” said Pieters. “I’m so happy to be back. As a golfer, top 50 in the world is your strive point and when I jumped out maybe three years ago, I took it badly. I’m happy to be back again.”

30-year-old Pieters is the first Belgian to win a Rolex Series event, with the Dubai Desert Classic up next. It was his sixth win on the DP World Tour, and first win since the Portugal Masters last year.

Pieters, who once finished tied for fourth at the Masters, and was in Europe’s 2016 Ryder Cup team, said he “had good control” of his ball all day.

He had a pretty infamous moment with ex-girlfriend Eva Bossaerts

Thomas Pieters’ ex-girlfriend is Eva Bossaerts, who was was born in 1999 in Antwerp, Belgium. The couple were together in 2017, when Eva made headlines after Pieters accidentally struck her with a wayward drive.

In the final round at the Genesis Open, Pieters hit a tee shot that wound up striking a fan, which turned out to be then-girlfriend Eva. A fan in attendance caught the incident on camera and shared it to social media at the time.

Thomas Pieters and his new girlfriend, Stefanie van Steen, keep a relatively low profile. Not much is known about Stefanie, but according to her LinkedIn bio, she works in Antwerp, Belgium, as a Senior sales executive.

Thomas often shares photos with Sefanie to Instagram, including one which said: ‘Quote from gf: “roses are red violets are blue, golf is back but without you”. In another he wrote: ‘2 down 2 to go with this beauty. Wedding season.’

The couple have a daughter called ‘Flo’, who celebrated her first birthday on 24 July 2021. Thomas wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘Ready for the Olympics but I wouldn’t want to miss your birthday for anything. Happy first birthday my Little Flo.’

He has also shared several other adorable snaps with his family.
