Gary Neville was asked on Sky Sports Monday Night Football last night if Tottenham can win the Premier League.
The Manchester United legend ran the rule over Jose Mourinho’s recent tactics at 10:55pm, 30/11 before host David Jones asked him if that approach is good enough to help Spurs win the title.
He said Spurs need Mourinho’s caution to bolster his backline, and their pace on the break makes them a huge threat.
Neville warned that Spurs could come unstuck against sides who like to sit deeper, but expects that Mourinho is planning for a title charge.

“He has to play that way to have a chance of winning the title,” said Neville. “I don’t think his back four are strong enough without beefing it up and putting one or two more back in – getting Sissoko and Hojbjerg doing that.
“Having Bale, Moura, Son, Bergwijn close to Kane – they’re going to be a massive threat to most teams.
“The challenges might come against sides who drop off, where they have to be a bit more creative but that’s where Kane and Bale come into it.
“He’s got a plan, Jose, to win this league this season. That is his plan. I don’t think he can win it being proactive against City, Liverpool and other teams. The players are buying into it. It feels something that’s innovative but has a real threat with it.”

Two big games are coming for Spurs – the north London derby and a match against Liverpool.
Get through those two unbeaten, and still top of the league and it should provide huge confidence going into the festive period.
Neville has outlined Mourinho’s plan for success and it’s working so far in this strange, curtailed season.
Can they break down sides who sit deeper? That was the challenge Mourinho couldn’t solve at Manchester United, but the likes of Tanguy Ndombele have the creativity to unlock the door.
