Everton defender Lucas Digne has praised Tottenham pair Hugo Lloris and Serge Aurier, speaking on BT Sport.
Digne was asked to name the best eleven players he’s played with – excluding his Goodison Park teammates.
He’s played with Lloris at international level and with Aurier during his time with Paris Saint-Germain.
“In goal, it was tough to choose between (Marc-André) ter Stegen and (Hugo) Lloris – but I’ll go with Lloris for his career.
“For me, he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He’s a good guy, he’s captain of the national team. If there’s anything he can do to help you, he will, that’s for sure.
“Right-back – Serge Aurier. I grew up with him and we played against each other many times when we were young. In Lille, when he was in Lens.
“We would always play one against one and it was a great battle. I’m so happy to play against him now with Tottenham.”
Both Lloris and Aurier have had their critics during their time at Tottenham.
Lloris has the reputation and the World Cup in the bank but errors have been creeping into his game in recent years.
Aurier has been Tottenham’s best right-back this season, but is prone to being caught out of position.
They’ve both clearly impressed Digne and take up places in his team alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar further forward.
