Everton are chasing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to Sky Sports.
They report that the rapid wideman wants a move to the Premier League this summer.
Tottenham are apparently also keen but won’t match the £40 million asking price from the Bundesliga side.
Interestingly, that fee is £15 million less than the £55 million the report says Bayern Munich were willing to sign Bailey for in 2018.
That move fell through and now Everton are apparently interested in adding more pace to their ranks.
The likes of Bernard and Theo Walcott have seemingly dropped down the pecking order, and Bailey would be a more exciting option than both.
Signing Bailey would mean Everton have essentially signed an entirely new midfield four this summer.
Their new-look side produced arguably the Premier League performance of the weekend to beat Spurs away from home on Sunday.
Now they could strike another blow by beating them in the transfer market over Bailey.
